Charlie Brooker, creator and writer of “Black Mirror,” has been on one of television’s wilder rides since 2011, experiencing phenomenal heights of acclaim and absorbing fracturing blows of viewer and critical kickback.
There’s a fascinating trait about “Black Mirror” which has made it something of an outlier among ongoing series in that the show engenders feverish reactions in either direction, more than almost any other series I can think of. I’ve followed this rollercoaster from the start and it has always felt like a strange trip that somehow can’t be controlled, and I’ve often thought of (and worried about) Brooker’s state of mind through the process.
