Things seem overly complicated. The long, slow — then exceptionally fast — decline of Twitter, spawned a hodgepodge of replacements that only thinned the ranks (or confused people) and then, as metal fatigue imploded the structure and ennui engulfed the users, the very concept of social media was on the brink of collapse or (more) chaos.
