"Severance" to be next Box Set.
That and a few more housekeeping notes from the Department of Order.
“Severance” seems too obvious to overlook as the next Box Set, so that’s what we’re going to do. I know, it means that two AppleTV+ series in a row get the Box Set treatment but so it goes and there will be plenty of other content curation for those who don’t subscribe to that streamer.
A note on timing for the deconstructions, at least to start: You’re probably aware that the “Silo” season finale is Friday, which is also when the first two episodes of “Severance” drop, creating a bit of a logjam. This is complicated even more (for me) in that I’m flying to Portland tonight. Soooo, I’m guessing I may do the “Silo” finale Box Set for Sunday, then the “Severance” episodes for Monday.
Unless that changes, as life dictates.
But anyway, at least you know.
I don’t have time right now to do an appreciation of David Lynch (and rarely do those anyway) but in honor of his death and his ceaseless interest in discussing the act of creation, maybe we should all do a little meditation session, since Lynch’s extremely serious and enviable devotion to Transcendental Meditation was the source for all of his wild thoughts and ambitions.
Might be adding TM to the resolutions list…
Pre-Portland trip I finished the second season of “Kingdom” and, despite wishing that it had a third season (which the finale clearly hinted at — though it does work on one level if you use the zombies as a metaphor for ever-present evil) I loved it.
Now it’s on to the rest of “Sherwood” S2, plus “Silo” and “Severance” and some movies. And reading. And meditation.
It’ll all come out here eventually.
P.S.: The Box Set deconstructions (of every episode, with vibrant and enthusiastic and smart comments from readers) is a paid feature, so consider making the leap if you can.
Love to your mothers!
Yay, as the person who gave u the name “Box Set” back when u asked your twitter followers for ideas, I’m especially excited you picked Severance for the next one!!
Sorry to hear about David Lynch, no relation.
Still no Apple TV but I did add Max at $2/month for the next six.....
