This is a weekly examination of each new “Silo” episode. It contains spoilers, so if you haven’t watched, come back when you have.
After the “Descent” episode ended, I shut off “Silo” and lamented, for the first time, the weekly viewing schedule. Several elements are in play here: I wasn’t dying for the next episode out of excitement; I wanted to lose the taste of “Descent” and just get on to a better episode (one would hope). I also think waiting a week for each episode is making me lose facts I should remember, or the show should do a better job at reminding me of? Like Juliette’s arm injury. I had forgotten about that, probably because it seems only remotely important, like when you need her to pass out and drop the miraculous new suit helmet she just found.
Let me take a deep breath here, to wash away some of the annoyance about “Descent.” But before I do, let me wish for a new development not yet invented: The ability for the home viewer to press a button and get rid of characters we either had nearly no knowledge of who are now acting like they are important (Amundsen), or barely-known characters who suddenly rise up in importance and start displaying traits they hadn’t leaned into previously (Camille, Sims’ wife).
Agreed? Great. Let’s do this.
