For anyone with memory fritzes who watched S1 of “Silo” when it came out, the extended visual “previously on” for “Order” was a welcome sight. Oh, right, that person. And that person. And that thing. Forgot about that.
Sometimes we all need to be reminded clearly in order to follow the narrative flow, so the recaps before each episode will be essential.
In “Order,” the series revives drunk/drugged Judge Meadows (Tanya Moodie), head of Judicial and lover of relics, who has been sidelined by Bernard (Tim Robbins) as he has essentially taken control over the silo. Meadows is reintroduced because, not unexpectedly, Juliette’s successful leaving of the silo has all the residents in an uproar about the truth of what’s out there. Figures of calm and reassurance will be needed. Even drunks.
Bernard, who in one of the better visual moments of the episode, is watching, stunned, on a big screen the view Juliette has as she discovers all the dead bodies in the adjacent silo, consults the Pact, basically the Bible of the silo, and prepares for war, or at least the uprising he knows will be coming.
He’s rattled. Because everything has changed and everyone saw it change.
“Order” is an episode that lives up to its title, one that tackles what’s needed — the fallout and agita from everyone watching Juliette survive — while also smartly noting what’s about to come:
Chaos.
