"The Diplomat."

The Netflix series starring Keri Russell and Rufus Sewell gets the Two Episode Test.

Anyone who’s seen Keri Russell in “The Americans” knows she’s damned good even if they decided to pass on “Cocaine Bear.” The fact that she’s in a new Netflix series looking like a bad ass and generally being magnetic in that way she perfected in “The Americans” should send anticipatory signals of delight down everyone’s back.

I mean, right?:

(And no, I never saw “Cocaine Bear” but it still has another month or so to work as a pop culture joke, so sue me.)

While “The Diplomat” certainly seemed like an obvious choice for the Two Episode Test, I was pretty sure that I’d be all in on all eight episodes unless something went freakishly wrong. I mean, she’s that good. And the supporting cast, by the way, is also standout strong. I was in, but I needed to make sure. So here we are.
