What series would you want remade? Revamped? Modernized?

I've got three. I could probably do 20. I'm hoping you have at least five.

I guess the Perry Mason thing on HBO didn’t work out?

If you’ve been following along, I get tons of pleasure in asking things I honestly don’t know anymore when, in the past, it was my job (and sometimes my joy) to know them.

I wanted to watch “Perry Mason” on HBO with Matthew Rhys but it came out in 2020 and not only was I writing a show but — I distinctly remember this part — I was trying to not die. From Covid. You remember that was a thing? It still might be.

But it definitely was in 2020 so I didn’t see even a trailer for “Perry Mason” but I do love Rhys, because he's a lovely man and also, well, he was in “The Americans,” one of my Top 5 Dramas Ever, so that’s a big accomplishment.

Never saw him do Mason. Never read a review. Have no inclination to even Google it. So, as a bonus, anyone who watched can let me know if I should watch, understanding — especially if you’ve been reading any of the comments lately — that there’s a metric fuck ton of shows I and you are behind on and we have to tidy up these lists if we’re at all serious about getting shit done.

But I bring up a remake of some notoriety because, well, I have three pet projects I’d like to see get made. I’ve discussed this in the past with my podcast partner Jason Snell, and it’s always funny to me that I could probably reel off about 20 good remakes but these three are my standbys. As in, let’s see someone make these, THEN we can talk about the other 17.
