Excellent list! It’s amazing seeing 3 Apple TV+ series on there seeing as they don’t release that many series. I just started Murderbot and found it delightful (if frustrating that I couldn’t just watch episode 3 immediately). I am 100% with you on The Studio.
I did finish “Rivals” by the way. I thought it was excellent. I had said earlier that it was Bridgerton meets Mad Men but I also should have mentioned the obvious homage: Dynasty. It ends on one helluva cliffhanger.
And in other news: my husband and I are watching Paris Is Burning. Very action packed which I realize makes your recommendations quite suitable for us to watch together. I will keep the rest of your list in mind!
Ooooh, let me know what think of Paris Has Fallen (it could also be burning, wink, and I know that I do that all the time). Hopefully the action packed part makes for good co-watching. KB and I are watching "Rivals" but wow has our schedule been off and now she's on vacation with her kids in London, so it'll have to wait. "The Studio" is great. Human people of Hollywood, you make us sad.
Oh whoops. Yeah mangled the title! My husband is also on a trip so it’s on hold until he gets back.
I got delayed finishing Rivals due to having family over. I really stuck with only watching 1 episode every Sunday. With that done, I settled on my next Sunday show: Normal People. I can’t remember if you watched that one. But after seeing a terrific Paul Mescal in the fairly bad Gladiator II I decided I wanted to see him in something better. I’m watching 2 episodes a week.
You might just succeed in dragging me back to give "Severance" and "Silo" another chance ... meanwhile, thanks for all these recommendations: I'm bookmarking this post for future exploration.
Yeah, always good to have the reminder of what's out there. Even I, when going back in the archives, forgot like four things (most didn't make this list go round, but I was like, "What is ZeroZeroZero" and had to click on it and then the light flickered on, slowly.
So far, MurderBot is cute. If you want fidelity to the source material, you will be disappointed. They changed the reason it named itself MurderBot, for example, because the show wanted another mystery, which just irks me no end, and Mensah is already having panic attacks, which is just "What? Why? No!"
When I knew what if was going to be I though Friday morning would be best. Not a ton of comments but it did get a lot of action, though I suspect that maybe if I did it on Thursday it would have been even better. Or maybe that's my own bias about Friday's being not a great reader day...The good news is that AppleTV+ is on a roll. I didn't even include "Your Friends and Neighbors" because it's not done (or I'm not, one of the two) and I would have included it for sure.
Do you have a ready made list of recommended Apple TV shows? I'll watch all of the sci fi shows plus the one about the American soccer coach, but anything that should be top of the queue?
The Studio, Severance and Your Friends and Neighbors are the ones I would try first, and I would add Slow Horses for sure if you haven't seen it. 6 episode seasons so easier than it might look. There's a TON of sci-fi stuff on there so obviously Silo and For All Mankind. For non-sci fi I would add "Pachinko" and "Bad Sisters."
Surprisingly, there's a lot. I know sci-fi loving KB was very into "Foundation" and "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters."
I would definitely skip "Disclaimer" despite the high pedigree -- that is some serious hate watching I did and I would not want anyone to repeat it. I thought "Ted Lasso" was fine as a pandemic comedy -- everybody needed something light -- but grew really tired of it way faster than most.

Was this intentionally released on a Friday morning? If so, chapeau!
I'm adding Apple TV this weekend to watch Murderbot but a couple of reviews indicate I may be disappointed. We'll see

I'm enjoying it but not anywhere near as well as the stories. Alexander Skarsgard is doing a good job conveying the emotions/confusion well though

Thanks. Ted Lasso feeds my EPL Fandom so it's definitely on my list.
I got me some catching up to do!
Well the good news is that it's not a race, just a reminder. Hope if was helpful
